I have a 2006 KW T600 with a cummins ISX that will need a rebuild soon. I have recently put a new transmission and completely replaced all suspension parts on this truck. I also have a 2004 KW T600 with a strong C15 Cat engine but truck was totaled without doing any damage to the engine. I am leaning towards putting the Cat engine in my 2006 but I have had a few people say I should just sell it to buy another truck instead of possibly dealing with wiring issues of swapping from cummins to cat. I know what I have in my 2006 chassis and in my Cat engine so I think this would be my best option instead of rebuilding the Cummins or selling to buy another truck.
Anyone done an engine swap like this and ran into any major issues?
Engine swap or just sell truck?

Why not rebuild the ISX and sell it?

Can harness off 2004 be used if needed .. if you know that the cat is a good engine I’d go that way myself. No DEF fluid or dpf is huge benefit IMO .

right now is not a good time to buy......used or new, the market is pretty bad. You'll over pay. So, I vote rebuild.

If worse comes to worse they’re a few companies that make harnesses and brackets needed.
