Going to be pulling an accert cat bxs. If I were to find a 6nz to swap it with, what need to be done for wiring harness to make it work?

Another question. If I get a 6nz without an ecm, can the ecm of my bxs be programmed to run the 6nz?

no, even though the bxs is a 70 pin, the software is still different.

I have no knowledge of wiring or compatability of Cat engines, but the folks at Kustom Truck/Kustom Harness should be able to help with advice or wiring products to help with your potential swap. I am told they do a large number of the harnesses that are needed to put gliders together.

Got the 6nz in the truck and running today. I have no tach reading. I thought Cats read the rpm of the cam and not with a sensor in the bellhousing. Any thoughts?

there are two sensors that read rpm. one on the crank and one on the cam. the crank sensor is on the left front corner of engine just above the oil pan.
