Audible has kept me trucking along happy. 22$ a month for 2 credits. Then you can buy 3 credits at a time sometimes for 30$. A credit = a book.

Some of the books are cheaper than Credits, so I buy them outright. Some of the books are 50$+ so the credit saves me a lot of $.

I am a big fan of Scifi/horror and books like: Way of Kings - Brandon Sanderson, or The Stand - Steven King are a lot of bang for the buck.

Plus a relisten after a few months is usually fine, since you will miss details here and there since you're driving.

Also stream music sometimes (Spotify Premium, 9.99$ a month. Can download songs to playlists to listen to offline so you don't have to waste your cellular data.)

And of course tons of TV/Movies/Youtube videos on a NFC Hard Drive to watch when I am stopped.

When I drove team, I used my blueparrot headset to listen to my books/music so I wouldn't bother my team mate. The sound was good, and I already had the headset. Plus it only blocked one ear so I could still hear the sounds I needed to hear.

Audio books and podcasts for me. (I have satellite radio but use it mostly for sports.) The new Volvos have a USB slot into the stereo, so I can put a ton of material on a thumb drive and be set for weeks. I've studied a language (Russian) while driving. I used Pimsleur and Michel Thomas (for Russian, I liked Pimsleur better. Michel Thomas method is great for German). Actually I study lots of things while driving, because most of what I listen to are nonfiction audio books.

Anyone use their "home base" county library for audio books?

I was never a "tin foil" hat guy, but I used to love listening to Art Bell at night. ( Coast to coast)

George Noory has the show now days.

Some of the crazy stuff they talked about was enough to keep me laughing through the night.

There are some crazy people out there.

My own music on flash drive, also comedy album downloads.

Satellite for talk programs. I have an old Sirius stiletto 100 and it can record and save shows like a DVR. I have had 20-30 at a time saved, at 6 hours each in length!

I can play back a recording while recording another. I don't know of a current model that will do that.

That's more of a full time job than driving. Can you say 'people of Walmart?'
