I second the Audible subscription. I have the same one and also use my headset to listen to them. I download them to my phone, so they are easy to access. Best money I spend every month.

Love my Sirius radio. I listen to Howard Stern, Opie and Jimmy, and my Detroit Tigers games.

I must be weird. So far this year, I haven't turned the radio on for anything but the alarm clock function. I Just crack the window and listen to the engine, tranny, and rears for signs of trouble.

Satellite radio, a good mp3 player and a laptop for your down time. These three are my windows. I still remember when we took cassetes on the road and ran through two dozen in about a week. ( I first tried out the job 18 years ago but did not stay long. Been back for nearly four now)

You can try to come up with a millions ideas but at the end of the day this job is mindnumbingly boring. Just drink copious amounts of coffee, listen to music, audiobooks and call people as often as possible. Or just daydream do anything to keep your mind off the fact that you probably do the most intellectually unstimulating job on the planet.

Ya! I would not feel comfortable driving with headphones on. Even with a low volume talk show.

I need to hear the truck. Won't even do it in my personal vehicle.

I have started to add tracks to my iTunes library using the cd collection at my local library. I have added roughly 2000 either new, or new to me tracks for free. Either I actually bring my PC into the library, or I check out a dozen or two cds.

I think that most states allow a single ear to have an earphone in it while driving.

I think that I may have driven for that same company on that very equipment.
