hooked up the eobrd today and the eorbd mileage does not match the truck.
Is this going to be a problem or not?
It's off by almost 400,000 miles
Ecm was replaced before I got the truck.
Eobrd mileage doesn't match truck mileage

yep... you should be able to set the mileage in the admin part of the ELD software for initial hookup.
-
Don't think you can change it because it's pulling the mileage directly from the ecm of the truck.
Don't think it will let you manipulate mileage but that would be a handy option if it was offered. -
-
I would guess so but don't know...
Can you give me a scenario where the mileage being off might effect somthing ?
Im wondering if as long as it tracks miles from point a to point b accurately that it would be ok?Oxbow Thanks this. -
My Odometer shows more than I actually roll (if compared against the google maps). It is a little over a mile every 100 miles. I just go by the odometer.
Oxbow Thanks this. -
Example: When they replaced the engine in my truck, some how the odometer was cleared out. It shows the actual hours/mileage on the new engine. The ECM shows the actual Total mileage on the truck. In my case it's all documented by my truck dealer who installed the engine and does all the repairs for me. -
It doesn't matter.
Why?
Because the official mileage is on the ECM not the odometer for the ELD.
Just note the difference and if you are questioned about it, then tell them that no one will change it to reflect the correct reading because no one knows the correct reading and you are using the ELD as the official mileage for logging.
By the way, one HUGE and IMPORTANT reason to have an ECM dump before you buy a truck is to make sure these two things match and if they don't, then have in writing from the seller why. -
The ecm shows 400,000 les miles on the ECM because it was replaced by Detroit.
It's an ex Penske truck so I was able to confirm the mileage.
Really kind of humorous that the all knowing eld reads and controls your life on the fake mileage. -
The only pkace it may cause a problem is when entering Canada since they require the odometer readings on their logs. Easy enough to explain and happens often enough. My Mack shows 20,000 on the ecm and it actually has 769k, new ecm over the summer.
As long as the mileage accumulates close to the gps data you will show the correct miles driven for the day, no harm.Hulld Thanks this.
