We are guaranteed 1100 miles a week. Even training pay times 1100 is more then 200 gross. Did you hold a couple of runs ? Pay period start to end if they don't dispatch us 1100 miles , we get that as a min. Never had to use it in 9 1/2 years , yet. But it is there. Sorry it did not work out for you. Best of luck.

yeah clearly, as in a lot of cases on here in many threads, there's more to this story than being told. even my worst 2 weeks on our favorite dm's board, or weeks that I had multiple 300 or less trips I had to sit on, I didn't see checks that small. even at the minimum mileage pay, which I got once in 28 months, the check wasn't that small.

and clearly the poster hasn't read my posts fully, or over the longer term anyway.....i'm no cheerleader and certainly not jumping up to grab my skirt and pom poms lol......there are issues here but it makes a big difference in how you deal with them. there is a way to go about it and a way not to. all in all it's been a good experience for me and I certainly don't kiss anyone's ### lol that much more than anything should be apparent. i'll call them out in a second over any bs that goes on but here again, there is a way to do it and a way not to.

hometime is an issue from time to time. I certainly don't like getting hung out 2 weeks+ but it happens. it's the business we're in. you're going to trade off at some point pay vs. time at home.....but 9 times out of 10 I DO get in every week and I do get time with the wife, kids and dogs.....it's been shown more than once by many of us that if you stay out more than 6-7 days, that second week is going to suck. I think in part that has to do with us not expecting to be hung out that 2nd week and not having the recap hours to pull the longer trips on the second week. those that KNOW they're going to be out more than 6-7 days should be managing their hours accordingly. I know of at least one on here that does andhis miles aren't really suffering and he's getting the hometime when he wants it.

yes, there are the favorites and the golden children who kiss up and get what they want. it's like that anywhere you go. not just this industry but any. and any company. and you'll find it at the next company you land at, and the one after that. it's a part of working life. you either suck it up and deal with it, whine about it, or just do your thing and take care of you. I chose not to be one of them and be just as outspoken and blunt as I always have been and it hasn't hurt my miles or pay one bit. so what if the moron suckups get their favorite trips. that's fine. i'm sitting on 1600 by Wednesday and that's going to be a solid week by the time I get in. and kissed up to nobody to get it. just accept the bs that comes with the job, don't whine about the little stuff, and do your job. those that keep a low profile and put their heads down and take care of business get taken care of as well as the suckups.

looking for empties is also a part of it and you should know that by now. they've run me around half a day to get one and even bobtailed 180 miles to get one. it happens. at the end of the day I still got paid for the miles bouncing around for an empty. loaded/empty/bobtail doesn't really matter to me I got paid for it all. and always do.

while on the one hand, no company is right for everone and you have to find what suits you best, and I hate it didn't work out for you here, there are also some inconsistencies there that can't be reconciled. hate to sit and wait but seriously considering a reefer company? really? that's funny. complaining about the miles and pay but can afford to quit a job before you have another one and wait 2 weeks+ while you 'decide which one is right for you?' a check for 200 is better than a check for 0

daniels is right, there are things there that just don't add up and clearly more to that story than we're getting. all the same, good luck to you wherever you land at.

off to texas out of plainfield. hopefully get the big circle back through Valdosta and home by the weekend. usually the way that texas trip works out for me.

I was never guaranteed 1100 miles a week. I was told the avg is 2200 - 2800 miles a week. Once I switch DM all of that changed. Labor day weekend, I went home with 685 miles for the week. I begged for another load, kept telling me they didnt have one. My new DM finally called me on that Friday with a load which was the same one I dropped at the Columbus/Old Dominion yard for delivery on Tuesday before 23:59. I left out on Labor day so I could deliver the load and try to get some xtra miles on that check. I was never ever offered a min pay, and never held any paper work to be scanned. I started Epes in April and left in Sept. Clint was the best DM there but he has been out due to surgery. He was suppose to be back til Oct. I always had good miles with him. Did a couple of favors for him that screwed myself but I took it like a champ cuz I knew he would make it better.

First off flyingmusician, who said I couldn't afford to sit and wait. Since I have left Epes, I am in process of moving into a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house. No matter what company I work or where I go, i'll always have my cab fare home and money to survive. Maybe u have to sit at a company and deal with the BS due to money issues, but I don't. No company will ever have me starving for a dollar. That's what bank accounts are for. Btw, none of that money in the bank came from Epes.

yeah that' about it at this point. it's all moot now because she isn't even here anymore but choses now after the fact to come here and bash the company. by her own admission in other threads she's been on the site for awhile and just lurking in the shadows and only just now started posting. had she opened her mouth and asked a question or two maybe we could have offered some advice and/or help in resolving some of the issues she was experiencing......or maybe not.....but we've all been there and had similar or even worse issues but figured out how best to work around or with them. april to sept isn't a long time to give a company to see whether it works for you or not. everybody wants that instant gratification. you have to establish yourself over time to cement a position of being known as someone who gets the job done. the first year always sucks anywhere. it took me that long to establish myself as one of those people but now I have.

from where I sit she's just another in a long line of people who get one here after the fact and bash the company they couldn't make it at. the fact that we have so many 10+ year drivers on the roster indicates the type of company it is. sure it isn't perfect but that many drivers wouldn't be here that long if it was as bad as the rest.

we can only go on the information you give us.....which was and is incomplete......and I maintain there's more to the story than offered. yes, you have points that are valid but at the same time there's too much unsaid in your story to validate the issues you were having. it's been my experience in talking to many of our drivers that if they're not running there's a reason for it.

the 1100 minimum is policy. it's explained in orientation and we all sign the paper before first dispatch stating the 18-2200 figure and spelling out the minimum mileage pay. the one time I got it I didn't even have to ask for it. it was there. I had a bad week due to weather/bad freight lane and waiting for dispatch and came up around 800 for the week. the minimum pay was there.

and just fwiw....if you'd read the thread any at all over the past you'd know when I left aviation I invested heavily in real estate. I am not bound to this or any other company. my properties bring in monthly what this truck does in 4 months. I can walk at any time and will if it ever becomes not fun or an unworkable situation. I do this because I enjoy it and from what's out there, this one suits my needs well.....most weeks. maybe the next company you go to will suit yours. you have to learn the system and how to work within it and use it to your advantage.

my conversation with you is over at this point. you aren't here anymore and failed to ask any of us for advice while you were. coming in after the fact and ripping on the company is non-productive. best of luck to you wherever you land at.
