I have been try to book a load out of OH to anywhere for about $3.0/mile on a short run but some how the phone answerer says the market is for way less than that. Even if it is going to a really bad market of Northeast ( .96 loads to 1 truck) Same thing happened from Jackson MS couple of weeks ago. I could not book a load better than $2.0/mile ended up running empty to SC and picked a really Cheap n Heavy BAD load for CH Robin. And even if I was able to run every day, with this kind of rates I am barely making ends meet, because of the conspiring insurance industry(first it was Progressive and now Carolina Casualty same BS) charges me $8000/year for a 45 year old driver and OK credit, 8 year old truck and a dry van. My yearly mileage is less than 50,000 miles because it takes me a week to book a nominal priced load. All other expenses are same as $2000 for plates and Highway TAX etc. So my question is to the actual unbiased honest working truckers not to the broker type people who usually jump on any one says something in truckers favor. Do you guys always have this kind of situation that in even in Jackson MS (5.5 loads to 1 truck ratio) all the loads are answered to be covered or they all say it is $1.25/mile to Northeast ??? Is there any thing like EOE
