I have done a search for this and had no luck finding detailed info. I would like to know how you store your equipment or how you boxes on your trailer or headache rack are set up for keeping your stuff organized. I am looking for ideas, as after all these years I realize my stuff is scattered and not quite right.
    thanks

You yourself must be an organized person. If you have to look for everything when your loading your just wasting time. Determine your needs as to what you want to carry, see what type of enclosures will meet those needs. And then how to use those enclosures to there max potential. When your at the shippers or consignee as well as truck stops, look at other trucks and see how they are set up. You can even talk with a driver about how they have their trucks set up. I myself keep all my securement and tarps in the head ach rack or trailer. I keep nothing in the tractor.

This is what we do. Latest we've built the chain holders out of sheetmetal. 588.jpg 590.jpg

Since I pull many different types of trailers, the 3/8" chains and binders on the headache rack and straps are in the trailer boxes. With the exception of the 4 axle flats, they have about 14 each 5/16" chains and binders in one box because we haul a lot of concrete pipe with these.

Here's an example of the sheet metal chain tray. Can't see it in the pic but to the left is a long tray I use to store 4 ratchet binders. IMG_20150624_114509692_HDR.jpg

Just paint the hooks on your chains diff. colors to mark short from long ones, Tarps that are sitting on top of edge protectors in your boxes under trailer can get cut after a short trip, some loads will use most of the tie/downs, and putting them back clean will make your next load easy.
