If you are using an android phone you might want this. Make sure you are in one of the states that allows recording though. Luckily I live in Texas so I can record the call as long as 1 of the participants know the call is being recorded. (I.E. Me ). Might be good to record dispatchers as well.
Essential tool for talking to recruiters.

That's a great idea for dispatchers and company breakdown especially.

Personally if I was promised XX pay and got to orientation and found out it was YYY, I'd walk out on the spot. I know at my company, if a recruiter pulled that, they'd be unemployed pretty darn quick. -
I'll tell you a true story, whether you choose to believe it or not is up to you.
many years ago, I had a dispatch office that was always lying to me, funny huh, that they do that.
well I recorded the conversation.
then I took that recording to inform the safety guy as it pertained to HOS.
he yelled at me for doing that. he said something about "trust"., and he cannot trust anyone that records things, and asked me if I was recording him. I said no, but apparently, I broke his trust in me, and ordered me out of his office.
so go ahead and record all you wish.
if you think that in orientation you're going to get more money, they will indeed 'help you out"
and here's how,
they will ask you "which door did you come in"?
when you point to that door, they will "help you out of it". -
Just because you recorded someone on the phone in one state doesn't mean that it is legal in another state where that person is or was.

The Feds generally allow a phone conversation to be recorded between two states but the exception to this is if one state has a more restrictive law - in the example michigan has a two party notification law so that is over taxas one party law.
This has been discussed in another forum about a famous guy in doc who ended up in court for pugury and that happened because of a phone conversations recorded over months over state lines. The person who made the recordings were under the impression that their one party state was legal but the other person was in a two party state and they were charged with wiretapping. -
Lol wow what is this really coming to. We need to record absolutely everything then cause a disturbance when something is slightly off. If they pay you less than they said they would they wouldn't have too many drivers would they. Some of them screw you on miles too (this I don't understand at all) ... This job is basicly being a sh t catcher ... How much and how fast can you catch and how do you deal with it.

I don't know what you'd be accomplishing. Say recruiter tells your getting $.45 cpm and when you get there on boarding tells you no, you qualify for $.40 cpm with an additional penny for sliding scale qualifiers, or whatever the case may be.
Now you can show them recording of yours and recruiters conversation but the shocking point (to you) will come when they say this is what we are offering take it or leave it.
Remember, unless you sign a contract your pay can change at the will of your employer. At least that is how I understand most at will employment situations work.
