ESTES Express (5 Year Review)

@jtaran06 this is what you need for your family bro.

 

Mine was brand new, an 11 model I bought at the end of '10.

The hood has only been up to replace the battery and change the oil. That's it.

And I got 2 kids bro. Not 13. A van that size she will crash it.

 

Idk why she wanted get rid of it. Man that 18 sport was a good looking car. Little turbo it had some scoot.

Hey guys newbie here. I was with fedex express for 5yrs and went to ups air freight for a better future as they pay better and way better health care insurance. After a month ups laid me off as they are slow with freight. Also went to ups for the better hours as it was a PU&D job. My question is estes is down the road from me. I'm in the Philly area. What kind of hours do those P&D guys get, also top rate of them? I'm thinking of putting in for a position at one of the terminals. I wanna do PU&D work. What do you guys think or know? Thanks

 

At one point they were trying to send guys from all over to philly. They were swamped. There are a few terminals all close by idk if that will effect hours. I have talked to a handful waiting for paperwork in philly and a few guys said they were working more than they wanted. Top out should be close to $30 hour but it's all straight time. Insurance ain't that great vs what you just had.

 

How does it work if freight is slow? At fedex express if they had slow time you still come in and just sit in your car or truck or wherever you wanted. Just the pay progression at fedex express is horrible. Insurance was probably same as you guys nothing great and went up every year. Are guys happy doing pu&d? Like hows the work/family life?
