Will hub/combo guys ever do local p&d? Do they usual work during the day or is it more at night? It sounds like they make it home everyday is that true? Also one more question does estes do residential deliveries in tractor trailers?

You shouldn't need to redo the background check and fingerprinting any more often than every 5 years. I transferred my CDL to multiple different states and never redid my hazmat (except for the written test). My current state sent me a letter with a 2-month heads up that I needed to get another background check and fingerprinting done. Got it taken care of and didn't even have to go to the DMV, it's all updated electronically.

    No...

A city guy is a city guy. If he goes linehaul... He loses all seniority just like a linehaul guy can't jump city. He'd lose all his seniority. This is done to prevent people from screwing others over and jumping around because it causes a domino effect.

Yes Estes doesn't give a crap. You can even see how much every trailer is worth on the bills. You can see how much is on the trailer, where every piece is going, and how much it costs per pallet and what the total revenue for said trailer is.

You will be put with a trainer the first week and he should get you straight as long as you still remember the basics of shifting. I haven't driven a manual in forever and I stalled the truck several times during my training week. By the end of the week, I was floating like I had been doing it all that time I spent in automatics lol.

You'll get the feel of it again. You're just green to it because it's been so long.

Yes they are home every day UNLESS they either choose to stay out but that's what extra board is for. Mostly everything is home daily. I'm a line haul schedule guy and I'm home daily.

Check out how free Estes is tho. I wanted to work this weekend, central set me up on a turn, I told them I'm gonna go all the way through to Dallas instead, they said ok... Go! I did this to guarantee I work 7 days. Estes doesn't care lol. If you have the hours, you will run if it's available.

The only thing is, you better be able to again run YOUR ACTUAL SCHEDULE. I've ran recap hours for MONTHS before and they never said anything.

I always heard Dayton paid hourly with OT but management frowns on any OT so most routes are set as 40 hrs or less. And if you have OT during a work week mgmt sends you to the house early to cut the OT short. Probably with city drivers?

I really appreciate you driver. I respect you dont lie and try too act like a super trucker and admit your mistakes thanks for sharing that story with me it really gives me confidence. I stalled in training on railroad tracks on an incline scared the #### outta me i thought in that very moment i should quit trucking before i even started but i didnt give up i was so ashamed i felt i wasn't meant too be a trucker in that particular moment. Ive never had anyone even have a stick shift car so literally when i was in cdl school was the first and only time id ever driven stick in my entire life.

How often do you drive a stick at estes?

Estes sounds like the ltl carrier for me.. currently drive for fedex ground contractor but fedex is so unorganized and you sit for 15-30hrs a lot of times waiting for a load.. i was on a dedicated but i couldn't handle the 81 at 65mph not being able too pass a single vehicle sucked and they already drive stupid slow on the 81 lol..

In kansas now they have some smooth roads put your ### too sleep lol.. kansas gets a bad wrap cause tornadoes but this is really a beautiful state honestly in my opinion.. headed too denver..

Im sure ill have a million estes questions too ask you soon..

Don't worry the road quality in Colorado will wake you right up as soon as you cross the state line.
