Oh wow!! Now that's a new perspective because I have been losing sleep over this decision. I am a retired military guy with monthly pension already, and have been rolling with a Big Company for about 4 months which is a local gig, but pays around 800.00 take home but I need to a pay raise like ASAP..lol, I guess we all do, but that 1100.00 gross monthly just not cutting it. Another challenge is the contract I signed for the trailer, they giving be the run around even though I haven't driven it off the lot yet....I'm stuck just having 2nd doubts about the whole decision now. But thanks

We switched from semi trucks to Hotshot approx 16 years ago. Best move we ever made. Been in trucking for going on 40 years.

Our trucks, their average weekly gross is $5,000 a week running 1500 to 2000 miles a week. We haul a mixture of freight and vehicles.

If youre serious about working and aren’t afraid to ask the right people for advice, you’ll be ok.

Oh my now that's encouraging. I guess from the outside looking in, I"ve been too focused on the negatives as opposed to the "many positives" that are out there. I have been driving Big Trucks on/off for about 4 years and love the adventure/challenge and work, but I just don't want to put my family in more of a bind, esp. since I will be a 1 truck operation at first. Obviously, there is much to consider but I don't want to cause any more unnecessary setbacks or undue stress because this is definitely a big/major step and hearing the good/bad/ugly of owning my own operation has me on edge, but I really do appreciate any feedback and pointers that the experienced/rookies can provide because it helps to keep me motivated on all the possibilities.
