Very unsafe rating, Illegal dispatches, Dispatch trying to tell drivers how to do their log books, and equipment that wouldnt pass a DOT level one inspection if you paid the officer.

That sounds like very good reasons to stay away, far far away. Thanks for the further info.

The way CSA 2010 sounds, those are the kinds of companies drivers need to stay away from if they value their ability to continue to keep a CDL.

Yeah. When I was issued my equipment I was not allowed to inspect it. Then when the Mechanic told me that it had 3 exhaust leaks, a bad tie rod, 3 broken motor mounts, a head gasket leak yet it was OK to drive, I knew something was wrong. Now some upper management did bend over backwards when I became ill on the job to make sure that I was OK and got me the immediate medical attention that I needed at the time. I will give them that credit....

That truck would not survive GA. A buddy of mine got a warning for an exhaust leak there just last week. He found out in talking with the trooper that maintenance issues found during an inspection will be credited to the driver as well as the company since the driver is suppose to check these things during inspection everyday.CSA 2010 is not going to be friendly for those companies that don't maintain their equipment, nor for those drivers who don't bother to note defects when they find them.

Well the crazy thing is, their safety dept. is telling all of their drivers "CSA2010 has been pushed back for a year because of Invasion of Privacy on medical records" and that "the federal government is being sued over this". I talked to a recruiter for another company that I start with on Tuesday about it and he said he has heard nothing like that.

Wow. That's....total bull. Especially since CSA2010 is ..already here... and ....has nothing to do with medical records...

Full implementation may have been pushed back (I have heard rumors and we know what good rumors are), but it is happening. Actually falsified medical records will be a factor. That is one of the things that will be looked at. If a company gets inspected by DOT they have access to the driver files, which have to contain the driver's medical certification. There are all sorts of things that DOT officials can look at during an inspection of a company's records.

I guess that could be possible. But really, it aint going to do anything harmful that isnt already happening. It's pretty much just a linking and standardization of systems that as far as i know, every state is already using.

Thats why, for example, if mr dieselbear pulls you over, and you were inspected in the same state 5 days ago, and didnt log it...He knows... :D

But like, i keep hearing people say that csa2010 is going to get rid of drivers with high bmi..and uhm, its nothing to do with that...i figured thats what it was about.
