me and a buddy are going to school to get our cdl. Actually he is already done and driving. But I start my class on the 2nd of january. My question is have you ever heard of super solos? We want to team drive but, we ha ve learned team driving is for like coulples. That we wont make as much as solo. He suggested that we become super solos? This way we get paid for each of our own miles? Also is there a down time for trucks? I know after ten hour break you can drive eleven. so does that mean the truck can run for 22 hoours a day? Thanks for all the help with the newbe

What the hell is super solo?
Until this post all I've ever heard of is TEAMS and SOLO. -
I never heard of super solo before. Maybe someone was yanking his chain? The closest thing to super solo I ever heard was super singles, and those are tires.
Freebird135 Thanks this. -
I've heard the term bandied about before, and it's just another form of team driving. There are some ways of splitting the pay that apply here that allows the company to use the less understood term. It's team driving, regardless of how the money is paid.

So basicly its just another way for a company to BS a driver? -
Super Solo's? That's like sending the newbie carpenter to get the "board stretcher". Or maybe the "sky hook"...hehe.

Bottom line here, if you have to list someone elses employee number on your daily logs, you are driving team.

"board strecher" lllooolll

Its funny because right now I am a chef and we have little things like a board strecher. We have a bacon stretcher, bucket of steam. So no such thing as a super solo??? When you drive solo do they pay as you a team or split two checks???
