Been up on I-80/90. In some locations they have motion detectors on the side of the interstate, and they have signs with flashers to warn when the detectors have been activated, so you can slow down and not hit the deer. Wish they had more of those in other places.
Did you know, if you road kill a deer in Tennessee, you are allowed to pick it up and take it with you? (I believe they passed this law, cause it saves the state $. This way they do not have as many to clean up after.)
Spot on with stopping safely after hitting a deer. They can do major damage. Be glad the trucks are tall. Limits the chances they come through the windshield. -
i've run 80 and 90 end to end 50-100 times and never seen these....

I grew up in northern Mi. , the 1st couple times I went hunting
down here I missed my shot , told my bro in laws I wasn't used
to aiming so low .
They never took me hunting again. -
They don't hunt deer in the south, they ambush them... -

Great thread, but I'm calling BS on the 7 foot tall deer on page 1

moose got one of our w9's a couple weeks ago....it was a tie....moose splattered everywhere pieces of flesh on the top part of the stack, as for the truck $15,000 worth of damage
and for deere i hit one pulled over checked it no damage but later that day got yelled at by gf for not bringing it home for supper -
I saw a buck up near Old Forge NY that was about 7' from the ground to his shoulders.. But he was standing on some porch steps eating flowers in the flower boxno bull
