He went to Trans Am and his company has a thousand rules with low pay and dispatchers who never answer according to him.
Everyone I know from my class has quit their company already

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

Interesting, I was considering them also. I really think it is what you make of it, but there are exceptions that also.

True dat! The jobs are there you just have to look for 'em! -
Wow. Ten whole months qualify you to tell people to quit. Harsh, without the proper background to judge why some people stay in situations they dislike.
Did it ever occur to you that some people are better holding a job than getting one?
Lots of folks gravitate to the driving jobs, as it's a skill most adults posess. There are issues with all driving jobs that are qualifiers for whom can do them and who will find it intolerable.
Any one of us here on TTR can be the latest of the disappeared. One wreck, one divorce threat, sick child or parent would have any OTR driver flipping burgers in order to tend to family. Maybe some don't care to say goodbye.
You seem a smart enough fellow, abet somewhat naive. Being ugly and telling drivers to quit without knowledge of their personal situations doesn't make you seem more "seasoned" or experienced. It just makes you sound shallow, which based on your posts is not your intention. -
Instructions on how not to be accountable. A victim of those mean old equipment owners who expect their property not to be torn up. Blame it on someone else! Brilliant!CAXPT and BigRedBigRig Thank this.

I disagree most people adults possess the skills to be truck drivers . That's why many require several attempts to obtain their CDL , many fail the road test at orientation , and many can't park in truckstops after several months on the road .48Packard Thanks this.

Everyone in my class wants to go out for weeks at a time. Besides one guy that is there for a refresher, and can't make up his mind if he wants to go OTR, or local. I agree with you, and I as well have done tons of research. Atleast we won't be blindsided when it is job time.

I was referring more to the guys who just want to complain for the heck of it when they have options of dealing with it, driving for another company, or getting another job. If someone has that option then they should do that instead of whining and hoping the world will change to suit them. When I am stuck in a bad situation that I cannot mentally handle I try to look for alternatives instead of sitting on my hands. I was letting new guys who are considering going into the trucking industry to expect to have to sit and wait, or if they have a family that they will be away from them and it will be hard for most people.

What you call ######## and whining another may call venting and stress relief. Each person handles adversity in their own way. Here is a thought, rather than telling people they should quit, maybe you should just walk out of ear shot and then you won't have to hear it..
