I think the abusive users are going to be those who use heavy and consistent. I use easytether pro and it works great for connecting with the USB cable to a computer, from there I connect my computer to the TV with HDMI. Also, make sure you have removed the HD option from your netflix playlist while watching this way (small checkbox once you begin playback function) as this will reduce the data usage.
everyone watchin netflix?

So I guess the EasyTether Pro kind of masks that you are tethering as long as you don't go too overboard. Looks good. Also about unchecking HD. I don't watch Sling in HD unless it is a really important football game.
I just read where many carriers and devices limit the HDMI output, on the phone, for use with pictures and Youtube. So forget that, unless you jailbreak it. -
It's not fullproof, but it does give you better odds. -
so how much data does watching an ncis episode use or watching a mlb game
-
Jail break your iPhone. All limitations removed. Combine that with a grandfathered unlimited data Verizon plan and it's a dream combination.
With a jail broken phone, you can enable native tethering without the fee to the carrier.
I used 17 gig of data last month. They throttled me originally, until I told them I was leaving. I have a family plan with multiple smart phones with multiple data plans. We spend over 500 a month. They obviously wanted to keep us. -
Yea alot of them back off the threats, especially since if they do decide to terminate the contract they owe you the deposit back.

I have the 20gig 3G plan. That plan is Verizon and millenicom said the best coverage. I pay $55 a month. Have not hit a dead spot yet. Almost never buffer but I keep the Netflix, YouTube, etc on low resolution. Picture quality ain't worth running out of data. Not a terrible picture either.
I plug straight to my laptop and use hdmi to my tv or share the Internet and use a network cable to my Xbox. I have yet to hit my 20gigs and watch tv and movies just about every night. I also download podcasts to listen to while driving.
Millenicom will not tell you which provider is which plan but I got enough hints to figure it out. Verizon has better coverage so I chose to not have 4G.CommDriver Thanks this. -
What about using VLC media player? Once I've seen a movie, I usually don't want to keep it. So the storage thing doesn't really matter much.

Amen to that! Luckily I got that unlimited data also, use between 16-20gb every month, Netflix, pandora, YouTube and even BitTorrent -
i guess i need one of the kids to jailbreak my phone seeing i dont know what it is i just wanna turn it on sigh
