I know a lot of people read Schneider's adds advertising (recruiting) new and experienced drivers. Where they advertise up to 72k per year. Well if you come over experienced and are OTR driver and start at 50cpm or higher you can expect to earn more like 65k a year. If you are a new driver and start out at the inexperienced cpm pay then it will be more like 50-55k I figure if OTR. So just don't believe everything you read. Even though you might not make what they advertise it is still very good pay and probably the best training in tanker you can get as a new driver. I been here over a year now and I actually like working for Schneider very much and plan on staying here. Of course their are somethings that could be improved. For example layover pay and breakdown pay are really low compared to other company's. Now this isn't that big of a deal because you shouldn't pay over or breakdown constantly but I do believe the company should raise layover pay to around 140 a day atleast. But over all it's a great place to work and I still as of today recommend it if your looking to pull tanks especially if you are new to tanks

Yeah, told the recruiter I'd most likely go there since they are giving an 8 grand bonus and the apprenticeship will bring up the pay too.

Mostly, I see it as a good company to get into tanking with. If I'm not satisfied after a year, Superior likes trained tankers and day cab jobs really open up with experience.

Besides, my wife doesn't want me working out of Willmington, too much opportunity to jump on a charter before heading home. Lol

Where can I snag a copy of Schneider's pre trip and tank TM?

Sounds like a plan, that was my exact thoughts when I came over from army to Schneider, for the first year you can't beat it. Get the tanker training plus military apprenticeship program. I'm not sure about the pre trip sheets for tankers

Pretty much everyone coming over from Military to Schneider tanks is making 50 cpm or higher. No other company can really beat this.

Superior is 52 but Schneider's bonus and loan repayment make up the difference.

I retired more than 2 years ago, so Schneider doesn't recognize my 20 years as worth anything. I will start at .41 loaded and .39 empty. That almost made me go elsewhere, but the bonus and loan repayment brings them inline with Superior's first year pay.

Now, after a year, the pay changes a lot between the two, so I'll re evaluate then.

I u sweat and what your getting at now. Snbc will pay you 200 a month for loan repayment even if you used gi bill and didn't pay anything. And yes they should be offering a bonus for the first year. But if superior offers a bonus then go with superior, because to make what superior pays for the year you need to be at like 47 cpm at Schneider. I was going to go to superior but now that I'm at 49cpm I believe I will gross higher at Schneider than I would at superior or it would be so close it's not worth changeing company's. Superior pays like 42 cpm when empty which is something I don't like also. I do 1000 mile trips often where it's 500 out loaded and 500 back empty. With loading an unloading pay it's a easy 600 dollars at Schneider made. And at Schneider I can get up to like 53.5 cpm being out of Charlotte, once I'm payed this high I know I will make more with snbc vs superior. But as a new driver I would go to work for superior getting the 52 cpm loaded and 41 or 42 empty. Because 41 cpm at Schneider is gonna suck

But you can see what snbc raises you up to after the 1st year and if it's ok then stay. If not then take your experience you learned to a different company.

Company's are all so different on their pay it's hard to figure it out, their is a company that hires tanker drivers out of Charlotte that pays like 64cpm loaded this driver told me but empty it payed 31 cpm. Makes it hard to understand, seems like you have to work a year and just see what the yearly gross was to be for sure if it's good or not. This year will be my first full year driving trucks and I'm gonna do like 64k gross. Which is pretty good for a new driver. Next year I will be in the high 60s, like 68 or 69 I figure. And this all depends on how much you take off vs work. I currently take off 7-8 days a month. And sometimes I wish I was taking off more. So eventually I might be happier with a 50k gross per year and be sitting at home more. Only time will tell

Yeah. That's the plan now. If a year later the cents per mile and pay aren't where I believe they should be, Superior is fairly easy to get on with....it you have a clean record and experience.

Yep and both company's are good so it's a win either way
