Ive tried that before at other companies, it never worked out in my favor.
Dont get me wrong, schneider is a good company to work for, but it all depends on your dispatcher. I have had guys telling me they were sitting at terminals for 3-4 days. Dispatch can make or break you at any company.
For me, schneider is better than the company i started right after i got my cdl. I was driving van for a small co. running paper logs, truck breaks down it was "my fault", expense reimbursment was a nightmare.
I would still recommend schneider to someone starting out, but dont expect a 19d paycheck right out of the gate.

First of all - many thanks to all for the replies ! All i have to go by is Recruiter Info - thats why i am asking here to get others opinion.
110% agree with the dispatch make or break statement - that is with any industry though - not just tied to trucking
Looking around on here, i do see as some do not get the miles/pay that @19d does .... I Am Not expecting that type pay starting out. ... HowEver,
1. HomeTime Issues i am seeing
2. Sitting at terminals 3-4 days ---- ??? what ??
3. OTR Driver not really leaving the area.
4. Bulk OTR Driver doing lotts of Drop/Hook (from earlier post) - and is affecting the paycheck
Seems like it is sort of a crap shoot on whether you get dispatched or not - from one's terminal location. -
I try to do every drop and hook I can, that's where the money is. Relay the load off and get on a another one. Hate waiting to offload
-
4. should have read Bulk OTR Driver doing lotts of Drop/Hook locally. and is affecting the paycheck.
@19d
If they are not dispatching OTR after drop/hook (locally) and want you to stay near the terminal, and also dictate HomeTime - this is opposite of how i have read that you run out of your terminal. -
@19d
Thinking more on this - I do not know if maybe these other drivers do not have all certs (TWIC, NALCO, X , etc, etc etc...) - maybe some of the others would be willing to share - maybe not?
But you have stated that you have heard from Savannah Terminal (I think?) kinda the same ... just gathering info here is all ... SNBC is still on my list - just moved down after reading what others post about their pay. and how the operation is ran. -
The poor saps who get stuck delivering your loads are the ones not making any money. Do they ever make you deliver a load some driver dropped on a yard you happen to be near. We have local drivers who deliver dedicated loads but they can't do all of them. System loads are rarely relayed off.Turbo Diesel, Tanker312 and slim shady Thank this.

That would be me..lolTurbo Diesel Thanks this. -
I remember Ethos used to tell drivers to sign up for OTR instead of regional with Schnieder tank. Said you make more money and the home time is similar. I wonder if regional guys get those dropped loads more often.Turbo Diesel Thanks this.
-
I moved from regional to OTR because of that(more money). But I have been making less money.

Lol, I'm sure I do screw over a few drivers because I'm the relay king. Soon as I get a job I start looking at where I can relay it off at. So right after I get loaded I'm on the phone calling saying when I will be at the relay spot that's close to customer. I run hard so I can get their early as possible and then they always let me relay it. We do have local drivers that will handle some but often they are full on work and some poor driver must do it I guess. I really don't know I'm long gone by that time. I don't do delivery of loads, my boss knows it and never ask me too.
