Pumped enough oil that it damaged a couple of air valves! I still purge a little oil when I drain the tanks. Not no 3 gal. Like you are saying. If your blowing 3 gal. Of oil there is something very wrong!!

    SAR Thanks this.

TowHaul I’m having the exact same issue you are right now except my air tanks stay empty. Air dryer blowing oil out every time it purges and using a lot of oil out of the engine. I have a 2008 Peterbilt with a cat c15 acert. Engine recently over hauled. Put probably 3 compressors on it before the over haul for issue and so far 2 after the engine was rebuilt. Still having the exact same issue. After sitting somewhere idling for a while I have a huge oil puddle on the ground under my air dryer.

my air tanks are typically fairly empty of oil. I believe the majority of oil is escaping out the purge valve. Sounds identical to your problem. What were your thoughts on fixing the problem? Its maddening! Do you have the metal gasket or the paper one, where the compressor bolts on? Mine is the metal/rubber gasket, but my reman compressors keep coming with paper. I was told by Bendix to use the Cat Metal one...but starting to wonder.
