@Bob Dobalina - I do not pretend to know how trucking will test my spiritual condition, but seven years of seminary just about killed it.

I carry an extra 30 lbs. at the moment, but I am currently dieting. I have lost 25 lbs. in the last two months. Flatbed was one of the two departments that I was pre-qualified for training in, but I opted for the refrigeration department.

@akfisher - I have not had a problem with fast food joints since college. I spent a year working for KFC, and to this day I can not stomach the idea of eating fast food. However, I do fall victim to the occasional seafood restaraunt on vacation, but it has to be fresh of the boat.

It is ok to be nervous. Heck, after 24 years I still get nervous. You are going to be nervous, there are going to be times that you are scared $#/%less. The trIck is to not freak yourself out so bad that the only thing that you focus on is being freaked out.

"ketogenic diet" - is that the KR pitch? It might be a good diet, i'll have to check in on that, but I'm already sour on the idea because that windbag Rutherford was blowing about it recently. Can't help it, that guy is such a know-it-all. Th30anks

PS: My physical doctor, Concentra, told me "we did a study with 300 people, men and women, mixed ages, with neck size 17" or more - every one of them experienced sleep apnea."

Personally, I can't stand "studies," for a lot of reasons, but if they're lumping everybody with a neck size 17" into sleep apnea regulations, I'm looking at a serious change of direction. I'm 6'3, 220lbs, and my neck size is 17". I don't feel the least bit like sleep apnea is a problem for me. My wife, on the other hand........:D

I don't know who KR is but I am specifically talking about the Atkins diet. Sugar and refined carbs are poison to our bodies. Besides weight loss there is a plethora of health benefits to eating low carb. At 220lbs and over 6 feet tall you're barely overweight by the way.
