Called dealer and they want $600. A new one online is $300. There is no exhaust smoke at all. Should I just get the clamp?

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

    Believe it was like $20

If you're near a Home Depot or Lowes today, pretty sure you could find something similar for cheaper.

    Good luck

Dude! If money is that tight you need to just sell the truck.

I wouldn’t want to risk deforming the fluted ends on the the other pieces, but it’s not my truck.

cke, rollin coal and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Any time I’ve messed with clamps on emission components they required a bit more persuasion than what I carry with me in the truck.

You will cause yourself more emission problems down the road if you don’t fix this correctly. Unless you don’t have to worry about emission problems.

That’s a good one! I’m just trying to keep some ammo in my wallet for the next major repair. as soon as I get a chance today, I will pick it up from the dealer and try to put it on myself either today or tomorrow at a truckstop that has a repair shop in case one of those clamps needs to be grind off or something.

cke, Rideandrepair and dosgatos Thank this.

Pick up two new clamps while you’re grabbing parts. Thank me later

Shoot, just about any bolt on a semi truck requires persuasion. I don’t know how many boats are stripped!

    cke and Rideandrepair Thank this.
