Hey guys
experienced gasoline hauler thinking of relocating out to Las Vegas Arizona area. Any idea what I could expect to make in my first year. I know I won't make the same as I do out here in nj but I believe the cost of living is a lot cheaper.
Any good company reccomendations??

Wages can range from 45k to 80k in AZ, depending on a lot of factors. You will easily land a job with your experience but the higher paying jobs are harder to come by. There's just not as many of them.

I think 80k in Arizona would be like hitting the lottery. Would that be so?

It's a good amount, we do have state income tax but it's not as bad as other states. 80k is the high end but yes there are a few that have done it. I would say it's more likely you will make around 60 but it just depends on the company and how much you work.

Check the Redfin website if you want to compare home prices or rental prices in the different locations you are considering. If you have school age children, this website shows the homes and which schools they will attend. Homes/condos are cheap in Las Vegas/Henderson.

It's been awhile since I've worked in LV but I had it real good. I was lucky and worked for a Major and was paid Calif. wages. We have no income tax and then everything was cheap. On a 3000sqft house your property taxes were just over $1000. Now everything has caught up because everyone moved there. There's only one place I know of that loads gas and diesel. That would be out by the AF Base and they are always busy. The Majors are gone but the pay is average. I would guess you'd start around $19 and after a couple of years you might be around $23 or so. The overtime we had is gone and so are the 13 holidays. I know COOL is doing good, they got all the ARCO business. If you go out there make a trip to the pipeline and see if you can get in. If not just watch for all the different trucks coming out and see if you can talk with them. The cost of living is still not at the highest so if you work it right you can do pretty good there.
The terminal is on Sloan ave. -
Just like Mr GasHauler said majors like Chevron, Shell, and 76 etc are gone. I've heard Arco is having some issues with contracts here in Ca. Williams Tank Lines is hiring there-excellent equipment but no overtime. I got lucky and found a gig that pays overtime. When you come out West you'll have to learn how to back a truck and trailer setup
