I will tell you the same thing i have been told by many of the FedX drivers i have talked to in the last 3 months.
......FedX is the best of the worst!
This is no joke, they really say this and i have seen it first hand.

And, there are lots of content, if not happy, FedExCC contractors/drivers. No one company is perfect, but except for a couple of notable exceptions (meaning I haven't seen anything good written about them), most expediting companies are far better that most regular trucking companies.
My future co-driver (lord, I can't wait to be able to drop the 'future') drove for a contractor under a different company. Not sure which one, but he's found FedEx a vast improvement. Has made better money with them, as well. -
Yendor, are you running a big truck, straight or van? Which company are you leased to. Sorry for all the questions, but I would like to get an idea if I should go toward expediting. I like the idea of a cargo van (no logs and easy to find a parking spot). -

http://www.expeditejobs.com/ - website dedicated to Expediters incl. trucks for sale, and jobs. Jobs are far and few between, mostly in the midwest, northeast and southeast... not sure why but few in the west. I have been offered a driving job with an expediter in Phx. and have received 1 call to drive in 5 weeks. Obviously not much available here. And this is a fleet owner who is also a broker. I have only driven pt under the table (read: unverifiable) the past 4 years, and want to drive again, but only options are getting into hotshot/expediter or going with Swift... It seems you go more than 6 months without driving, the only way back is through Swift or Covenant or... and then it's back to their school that they will charge you $3500 for and then sign a contract to drive for them. Then they have you by the gonads. Expediting looks much better than Swift... at least to me.
banjer picker Thanks this. -
That is low. My wife and I average about 800 to 1000 each. 1200 and up on a good week. We drive for an owner. We are buying our own truck the money is great but there are slow times like last week we only grossed combined 1580 dollars but it was realy off week but still that was over 750 each. -
It is definetly not easy right now.

Can you run expedite and still be home every night or at least home every other?

But Express-1 does keep me rolling with this van. I talked with the CEO the other day and expressed my concerns pay wise he stated that the company was paying out 79% of the revenue to its contracters and the industry is still slow. hope this helps. -
I drive a dock high Straight. I drive for a fleet owner and get a 60/40 split, I pay for fuel as I get the 60%. I made 41,000 last year and am doing well this year as well.
