One of the biggest problems that companys have in keeping new drivers is they appoint people in opperations that have never been in a truck in their life. Or with little experence like one I had who only went to truck driving school.
Find out as much as you can about the people who run the trucking company. Sometimes a person with years of experence as a trucker in opperations works better with driver.![]()

Or 20 yr old college kids for dispatchers.......worked for a guy that owned a 60 truck company and had never driven.

I got tired of it too. The company I run for now has nothing but drivers. No office and no office people. Everybody drives.

Lead driver?

As if I could ever catch the old man.

Just about every owner of the trucking companies I have worked for has had a CDL . The present one is the best . He'll back his drivers up when corporate safety desk jockies come up with some silly BS .
(Like saying any driver caught driving in a whiteout would be suspended ).
I won't work for lawyers or bean countersvolvodriver01 and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
The best dispatcher I had had never been in a truck. But she was intelligent, calm, cool and collective.
It doesn't take a truck driver to understand the system. In fact you can see in this forum and on the CB where many don't know how to get along with others. -
My dispatcher is like that . There is a lot of cooperation between her and the drivers . The drivers keep her informed of any situations that would help drivers with the loads . She knows more about regulations than the corporate people , especially going into Canada .
