It looks like an app for OP records. You have to sign up to get it.I'm guessing it's like a resume you can have sent to prospective employers.

Hopefully I can find a solid company that will work with me and leverage the 214. -
Man I never got the chance to drive the HET, I hope at @TonyP28 you had a chance to drive this awesome truck.

I would be treated as a newbie first day, however the only redemption is 10 minutes into the road trip and so forth I would show a wealth of knowledge beyond what is expected of a newbie.
In some cases it is good the companies no longer exist or past the 10 year limitation on employment history. They and I do not do well together.
If I was to get into tier two (No dot medical, farm harvest only) which is really limited, the previous 10 year history on me would simply be disabled from OTR trucking since a certain year and medical patient after. One sentence. Easily confirmed. There is nothing there.
Now.
The bad side of DAC that is sometimes weaponized against you should someone choose to do so in a trucking company to ensure you are not hireable anywhere else for a while if ever. If you did not know (And most trainees in trucking school with hopes and dreams do not...) there was a DAC and other sources of your information that could contain things against you in trucking now or in the future you will find out at some point when a employer rejects you and then says you are no good via DAC. What do you do then? Well you dispute it. Unfortunately in some cases it's a long time before you get to learning about it.
Drivers are treated as cattle in this industry. Disposible. sometimes abused. And so on. And the collective cry driver shortage. BS. Things need to change and improve. If they really want drivers and good ones, they have to be able to accept a few scrapes, busted mirrors and so on as the new driver gets his or her spurs. I would prefer no cost and damage at all but you cannot expect that.
There is alot that needs to be improved. And ultimately years later when robots are doing the trucking there will be very little need for humans to be around them.Tombstone69, TonyP28 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -

You are entitled to a free copy of your Hire Right/DAC report every year. You can request your copy online. Whether you ask for your free report to be sent by snail mail or email, it will take 15 days for you to see the report. Meaning, you request your file, and then 15 days later they allow you to see it. Even if you ask for the report to be sent electronically.
You also have the right to dispute entries put there by trucking companies. If the info isn't verified by the trucking company it is removed from your file. If the info is verified by the trucking company you also have a right to submit a correction/explanation that must be sent to any company requesting your DAC file. Under Federal law Hire Right/DAC is treated exactly like a credit reporting agancy (Equifax, Transunion, Experian. You have the same rights with Hire Right/DAC as with the Credit Reporting Agencies. Get your report. If you work at a company that doesn't report to DAC, get a letter from your trucking company stating your hire date, duties, and end date. You can also keep your first and last paycheck statement or keep your W-2s to verify employment.Truckermania Thanks this. -
Some companies will except your service time. Most will not, there is no way to verify how many accidents you had. How many miles you drive, what type of equipment, terrain or anything else. Your dd214 will list your mos, but so what? Most old timers still think a driver us a 64c. Your sf46 will list what you were allowed to drive. But how many candy ###'s no what a Mxxx is. Hell one poster here listed a 915 do they still use those old semi automatics?
Best thing to do is take your sf46, and your civiluan license to the local DMV and convert it to a CDL A. Then you might have to take a refresher course. But wont have to start all over again at the bottom of the mega barrell.TonyP28 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Next, Fill in ALL the required job history information. The company is required by FMCSA 391.23 to do an investigation on you and place the results of the said investigation in your driver qualification file that they maintain once they hire you. The company can use different means to verify these things. DAC is just one of several ways a carrier complies with 391.23.TonyP28 and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this. -
Ultimately, I understand it's insurance reasons for the OTR experience so I can't fault the potential hiring company. My AFSC/Mos isn't a primary driving job but we still do, every single day, with hazmat (munitions). Hopefully I can explain the situation properly and have a hirer that isn't a douche. We'll see.
