It make sense what you are saying, I do not argue, but I would prefer a bumper to bumper new modern truck. If it make sense. In 2004 we knew they opened a can of worm with this new emission control, and the added parts always need some extra care. But we also new, the day coming, when these stuff will not be issue anymore and it work seamlessly like the computer, the emission system on your car, and the very same system on millions of diesel cars in Europe. My question is: Are we there yet?

The new scr engines are much better than my pos 07 emissions engine. But I'd wait another couple of years before buying a scr. 1 of the scr trucks I work with had check engine light problems today. It's a kw with a cummins 90k on it . He bailed on the rest of the day.Might be nothing we shall see.

Even if it is under warranty , remember you eat the lost income from not working. And the payment is still due!

SCR engines are nothing new, the truck I drive is 2007 and it's scr, it's simple, runs at a lower temp than egr and absolutely no problems with it, easy to disengage it too

The scr seems to help out the dpf . Wait till you get the dpf. Then you will understand my poor attitude toward these trucks.

    Imho,

The DPF trucks can be really a pain as the DPF in them are quite unrelaible from what I have heard on here. Many people prefer a 07' and older or a DEF equiped truck for a reason unless it is equipped with a pre-emissions engine. When it comes to specing a new truck, I prefer a glider based upon what my friends have said. To me a glider equals the best of both worlds. Relability and Value. I think when it comes to resale value, a glider will quicker.

I was but not anymore. I work for a supplier that supplies KW, Pete, Volvo, Freightliner, and WS with parts. I'm also a part time driver for my company.
