Haven't worked since Sunday 2 am finish with hours to spare. Now Wednesday 4 am.
Ouch -
It gets slow around this time. Been here since 4 waiting for a hook. Maybe you might get the 126/136 combo every one here was declining. I would've taken it, such an easy run for a first half

I'll take anything they'll give me - but still no call.
Hope it gets busy soon.
I'll be gnawin' on cat food and Ramen noodles on the steam grate if this is how it goes much longer. -
Remember what I told you guys 2 weeks ago?? It always gets slow after the Easter holiday. Don't know why. It won't last long at all. Hang in there. Pretty soon everyone will be begging for time off.

When I first got to Reddaway my first week I sat all week about this time last year. Thought I made a mistake, then it started picking up to a point I was averaging 3000-3500 miles a week. Now I'm constantly working. Can't complain.

yea i remember when it was slow last year when I was peddling at 150... i stil worked everyday but got literally no overtime and 1 hour lunches instead of half hour. they sent me to 100 first after a 3 hour wait, had a good truck that pulled, they gave me the training truck, its a 2 seater yellow twin screw, it was rejected from holland so then yellow took it lol. Went there 217 miles, then went to 179 which was a 107 miles, but only had 5.5 duty left... got there, they decided not to have me take the load but head home empty before my time was up, my 14th hour was at 6pm, got in at 5:58... ouch that was close. saw a decent amount of trucks when I was leaving so hopefully bucky got the call

not me, I cook a lot of food to last 2-3 weeks, put it in the freezer, well my meats anyways. Veggies and rice I make every few days. I make a big thing of steamed brown rice, mixed with shrooms, onions, mixed veggies, and I took a piece of grilled chicken and cooked it with sesame sauce. Kind of like home made healthier chinese food

No call yet. 4 days with no pay.
I like working at YRC very much, but $0 income makes me nervous.
Prior to YRC, I was out of work too long and have a lot of debt to catch up on.
It's not about greed on my part - it's about survival and trying to avoid foreclosure.
If no call comes along by 9 am, i will call in and see if I can do any other type of work in the mean time.
Sweep up, mow the lawn, seriously. I'm not above any type of work to get by. Not sure that's do able as a probationary driver.
Can't hurt to call and seek advice though.
In years past, putting together a week or so of good weather in Spring
usually jump starts freight volumes. Hope so.
Keeping a positive outlook for better days ahead.
Hoping for the best, planning for the worst.Last edited: Apr 18, 2013
