well that ended up being a lonnnnnng day. First I had to drive through 150 miles of THICK THICK fog, saw a few lizards at the Mass rest stop... Get there a hour late, and the hot woman at 140 was mad I was late... must be that time, once I told her about the 150 miles of fog, cant see 5 feet in front of me she seemed to calm down a bit... Was in and out and I thought I was going home and have a nice 478 mile run, NOPE! I go to 179 again. Its kinda on the way home. Better go there while I can. thats a terminal they want to close down which is absolutely pointess to close down, other terminals are VERY far away, hopefully the petition they had will save them tonight. Hate to see terminals being closed... So had a nice 515 mile day, an awesome 875 unit that pulled (had a T-309) sticker on it.
Now I dont remember if you guys remember, terminal 111 was destroyed after that superstorm sandy, lost 36 tractors, along with computers and such... So they moved everything to 136 which is big enough for them as it used to be a distribution center back in the day... Now 126, 111, and 136 are all within 20 miles of each other. So they decided to close down 126 and 136 now and REOPEN 111 when at first they sold it and said forget it... now they are leasing it from Estes. WHY WOULD YOU REOPEN THE TERMINAL THAT GOT DESTROYED AND ALWAYS FLOOD AND AFTER YOU SOLD IT?????? If anything if you have to close 126, at least move it to 136, its still the biggest of the 3, and only a matter of time before estes boots us out like UPSF did to them when they wanted their terminal back
Saw Bucky there as well, he went to Boston. Wonder if he made it back? didnt see him on the sign inbound list whatever its called. No cat food and ramen noodles today for you LOL
Where has dumptruckin been? did he fall off the face of the earth???
Wonder how GA400 is doing, last we heard he was going to orientation... -
All in all, I'm very fortunate to have this great job. Very thankful to have it. Better days ahead I'm sure.

got the call and going to 135 Harrismentburg lol. Easy run, just wish the road work was done
-
boy this one truck going to 135 was a COMPLETE dog, seems like all those units have that problem of that numbering, never had a decent one
Did harrisburg in good timing today, although I come back and get a 3 day suspension because I miss-added my log... stupid I know, but dont think it deserves a suspension... -
Wow, that is harsh, Jesus. Well, going to 309 via Detroit & then Toledo. Just dropped the empty set & hooked up the set going to 309 here in Toledo & the turn signals aren't working & there's nobody here. Waiting for an outside vender to get here.

Made my 14 by 5 mins. lol
-
yea just because I added wrong... not like i drove over 11 hours or over 14 hours... either way the log was still a legal log, just I cant count LOL
At least you were in the yard. I have broken down 4 times. once in route 50 miles away, towed a new tractor to me. 2nd time at our Boston yard the whole dash lights went out, no low air, no blinkers etc, had to wait a hour for the vendor (the yard has no mechanic, they have a vendor come there for the day), was only a fuse. 3rd time the truck started giving me steering problems, swapped out in the yard of the dark terminal as they were closed and the shop superviosr said to do so. He actually laughed about the unit I had, he said it was giving them a lot of problems lately.
And heres the best brake-down, Started in Portland, drove to Littleton, NH had to do 75 miles south, then go west, to go back north(195 miles altogether, took me a while because of the storm)... Went through an ice storm, and the littleton terminal is only 5 doors, and 2-3 p/d drivers who also work the dock... its ashame they are closing it down... feel bad for the guys up there, been there forever, one guy told me hes not even sure if we wants to transfer... Ok so I hook the set, call to get disatched, now its 333 miles to home, and I have 7 hours duty left, the speed limit until CT is all 65 so I was like ok Ill do it, now I have 4 hours left, just about to hit the MA border, and figured its another 45 min till I hit the exit for 178, so I knew it was 3 hours from home then. Of course I hear a major leak in my air system, I stop, go out and check the connections and they were all good, put air back in still leaking, then I check the air chambers and there it was. Call the shop, tell them and i a sitting for 2 hours for the vendor (VT had 20 exits for 130 miles...) Vendor comes quickly repairs it, even waits for me to get my triangles before he leaves, now I have a hour left, tell dispatch, call again at my ast half and they say your close to 178, go put it to bed there. Pull into yard, they had gotten a message and put me to bed
I know that feeling about just making it in. Ive done that a few times, with either delays, traffic, etc. Once I get in the gate I mark it off duty right on the 14th, they told me to do it like that, I write out of hours, but in yard. they dont want you going over 14 even if its just on-duty not driving... -
Had my easy day today, did x63 Harrisburg rail yard and back. 10 hours total. Had to Bobtail it 209 miles there then pull a 45k van back. Time to eat

Still in Grand Rapids, MI. Got some ####### sleep. I'm across the street from the hotel waiting on my T-bone steak & eggs w/side order of bisquits & gravy.
