Experience with YRC ( includes YRC, New Penn, USF Reddaway and Holland

I'm not union in my yard at Reddaway but the biggest reason I ever wanted a union job was because of the pension. I had it really good a few times. In 96 at Roadway on the dock, in 99 at Consolidated Freight and 2006 at YRC. After 2006 it's been a downhill ride. Hopefully yall get that pension back. Out here in California they have done away with pension in lots of places. My wife is in a nursing union and they froze pensions years ago and only offer 401k now, same at my sisters job which used to be GE but some other company now. I've noticed there is the teamster 401k. However, I have never trusted the 401k. I just do it to lower my gross income. When the economy tanked my mom and step dad lost about 300,000k between both of them and still haven't got it all back. I might just start putting money in my mattress for retirement.

 

That's the reason why I want a union job for a pension so I'm not like my parents having to work till they pass.

 

Dayumn these New Yorkers are rude.

 

Guessing your in Buffalo... Ive only met 2 drivers from there who were really cool, the rest are all rude

 

headed home. Wow, this shuttle bus driver is rude & grumpy as helll.

 

I've tried to post some pics that I took at 881 last night but this stupid tapatalk will not allow me to for some reason. There's about 12 new freighiner trks and brand new Yrc wagons there for the NTDC that's coming up pretty soon. YRC is sending 31 drivers to the competition this year. I hope we place 1st this year.

 

@skinny send me the pics and I can post them... So thats where all our nw freightshakers currently are. I was gonna enter this year but couldnt do to an accident last year... oh well
