If you're linehaul with YRC, does that mean double and triples most of the time?

Doubles most of the time, yes. My experience so far; 80% doubles, 20% 53 footer I'd say. Triples; never. Unless you have 5 years doubles experience with YRC and you apply to run triples, (only seen them on the north lane).

Well they just laid the guy off below me. I'm barely working too. Guess I'm next. Think I'll apply for unemployment too. I can't believe this stuff I hear about the economy getting better. It's just not true.

YRC is a union company so if we want to talk about it in this thread we can. Thats my opinion. Still laid off but heard of possibly going back next week which Im still not sure of. Never heard of Rns being in a union though...

Well im still waiting for my unemployment approval. I know of a lot of businesses that are slow as of now.

I havent driven doubles in over a year... but it never bothered me, just have to remember to double/triple check everything nd give them the respect they deserve. They turn a bit easier than a 53' van. just remember if you need to back your ****** you will have to break them down and turn around. It takes some time getting used to seeing 60 feet behind you and the kite swinging around. I dont mean to scare you but thats the truth. You will get used to them

Yeah, just be cautious on turns and always make sure you have an out where ever you park (cuz there 'ain't' no backin). When I'm driving at night when the truck stops are packed & I need to take a piss & get some coffee & a sammie, I just pull into a fuel lane because normally there are plenty of empty spots so no foul & most truckers understand. Anyway, they're a piece of cake once you get used to them which really doesn't take long. Might take you a little longer to hook & unhook till you get the hang of it (after about yer third try). One thing I had to learn the hard way was DO NOT lean into anything on the dolly. Do one side then walk around and do the other, otherwise, you will get dirty as hell. Nasty black, greasy, wont wash out of your clothes kind of dirty.

Yeah the RN's have a union. It's not in all hospitals though. She has worked in 3 different hospitals and 1 of them didn't have a union. When she was charge nurse she was making 8 bucks more an hour but not in the union. I believe it is part of SEIU, something like UNAC (United Nurses Association of California) or UHCP (Union of Healthcare Professionals). Don't know for sure I will ask tomorrow.

It's UNAC and they have no pension due to a pension freeze.
