Thanks guys, the wife and I are doing better. Just one of those bumps.

I sure wish I could lift weights again. I threw my back out the other day fixing my wife's flat tire! Been 3 days now. Oh well, just have to live with it.

I know your still young and I was still living with my parents at that age too. I had to move back in with them twice since I've been older, not for very long. I'll tell you that once I was out on my own for a while and had to go back home, it was bad. It was like I lost all my seniority lol. They treated me kinda bad, like they were annoyed I was there. I was glad to be gone again.

Just start very very light, you never know the exercise might be good for you. Take it easy and if you feel pain stop. Yesterday during my cardio workout I felt chest pains and stopped... was just heart burn. Got a year to get ready for the tough mudder, my friends who did it want to do it again, and i told a good friend of mine to do it so I can laugh at him when hes in pain... He said only if I do, I know ill hurt too but itll be worth it LOL (yes Im evil)

Well My sister is the lazy princess who didnt get a job until she is almost 18(excuse is shes in school, but I had one at 15) and says thats too much for her so she complains, my brother whos younger is the golden child because of his 95+ grade average and doesnt lift a finger, and a HUGE mamas boy. Then the last brother has a slight case of autistism, and has ADHD(like me), he doesnt have much to do but he actually doesnt mind and gets mad when you do his stuff lol. Just like me in school too, so I always tease him you will be next to me wherever I am in 20 years which he likes lol. I dont mind what I always had to do but Im not here to do everyones

Well no news on going back yet so Im picking up the bottle opener again this week, I can still collect partial unemployment since I wont be able to get any more then 2-3 days a week. I had 85% senority over everyone there when I was full time, but wne to part time 2 years ago when started at FedEx.

I blew out my back in 2003. It was bad but but nothing compared to after the fusion I got in 2008. Now I have to be extra careful. It's weird. I can go to the gym and lift weights (carefully) but then after about 8 hours or even the next day, my back gives out. I will usually be laid up for a day to a week. I really hate it and regret that surgery everyday. I used to have faith in the medical system but not anymore. It is just a business. I have tried working out several times and get the same result. The only way I can work out is to do push ups (girl style) lol and triceps on the end of a table, crunches, squats against the wall, calf raises on the stairs, etc. Can't use any weight. That sure is a far cry from what I used to do. I used to work out religiously. Took all the supplements, diet and training very seriously. Especially the "supplements!" lol. Not anymore. I often wonder if I were to take the "supplements" again if they would help with my back issues. I think I will mention that to my doctor. I am getting up there in age.

Your sister sounds like my older daughter. Can't work cause she is so busy with school. I was like you. Started working when I was 14 with my father in construction. When I was 17 I was going to college part time, working at a grocery store and still doing construction with my dad. Gave up on college cause i was to lazy for that and kept working 2 jobs. Got my CDL in 1996 and been trucking from there on.

Sorry to hear about the autism and ADHD in your family. I worked for FedEx Express for about 6 months and I swear half the people there might have had ADHD or were just really hyper. I know you can have ADHD without being hyper so I don't really know. Maybe I was just lazy from trucking and didn't want to work. All I know is working at FedEx was back breaking and super fast paced work for to little money. I was putting in 10-12 hour days and taking home about 700 max a week. I went to work there after Yellow slowed to a crawl. 6 months later I went back otr.

Wow that sux. I take supplements like my shake mixes which I make smoothies and some food from. I also take this thing called jack3d which helps you focus more and keeps your mind set. I never taken the "supplement" friend of mine does which will get to him one day im susure.

My father had me working for him when I was 12. I never liked it because he'd pay very very cheap like 50 for a 12 hour day. I hated working for him, then at 15 I got my real first job at the restaurant(still there) busing tables making $16 a hour so I would tell my dad to shove it lol.

my ADHD was great at FedEx ground. I used to do a mall and was done at 315 everyday with a hour break. Of course my last stop wasn't until 4 which pissed me off. Kid doing it now is done at like 6-630 no break. Even my last route I'd start at 7 leave the terminal at 8, finish at 130 take lunch get my last pickup then get to terminal at 315 leave at 330. Guy now is done at 5

Running LTL, what time do you usually start and get done working? Do you have any say in that? How about running wiggle wagons?

btw, i think cool's right about the economy slowing down. Thankfully though, there's always a recovery after the slow down and those seem to last longer than the dips.

ACH, have you tried Creatine? That stuff seemed to be the best natural supplement I've used. That and a really clean diet. Just don't fall for that crap of taking your creatine with high amounts of sugar. It works just fine without it.

That's good that your ADHD worked in your favor at FedEx. We had to have our drop offs done by noon and pick ups done by 6pm. Had to be to work at 6am to work the belt and then at 6pm to work the belt again because there were never enough people to do it.

    Wrangler,
I start anywhere between 11pm and 2am usually. The time I get done just depends on the run or if I have to do a via. I have been done as early as 7am to 12pm. I have always pulled doubles. They don't give me a choice on runs unless we have a lot of freight. Then again at my yard they usually give the good runs out in order of seniority and the rest trickle down.

This election bs is getting old. They are using that excuse at my yard too. They keep saying they are waiting to see if Romney will be elected cause they think the economy will pick up under him. Hopefully he delivers on that promise should he get elected. What if Obama gets reelected? Are they just gonna close the doors?

I really hope Obama doesnt get re-elected... I dont need anther four years of him, ill move to Canada LOL.

The Jack3d has creatine in it, its basically all the stuff you need and doesnt have the extra garbage the other stuff does. Yes I have been doing a clean diet as well, feel more enegetic, and everything, although I slipped this morning due to having to go to a funeral for a really close friend of mine, instead of sayin oh well just heck with it I jumped right back onto it even if I did eat, plus my friend would want that anyways.

Thats what FedEx Express does??? forget that I wouldve walked off the job, Im not spending my life there.

Wrangler from what I know you dont get a say in your runs until you get some senority and can even bid a run. Whether your doing Line-haul or p/d you will get out all sorts of hours, theres times I was going home at 415 and others at 955 right before my 14(start at 8am) With linehaul you might layover at a hotel for a night

Well FedEx Express doesn't normally do it that way but my terminal did. It was really unorganized and just a plain mess! The part timers that worked the belt would always quit. So the drivers had to do it. It was bs but I did get a lot of ot. That was one hot summer we had too. We had guys passing out in the warehouse. They started giving us free cold bottles of water lol.

Sounds like that supplement is pretty good. Sorry to hear about your friend.
