Sorry Squonk, I meant to say, I'd love to see them vote the union in at Conway. I remember when I worked at FedEx Express there were always lawsuits going on because the company was cheating the workers. I used to say, let's just vote the union in. Beats getting a 5 dollar check every now and then from a joint lawsuit. I still get things in the mail sometimes from them because of another lawsuit from the time I was working there and that was 2007!
lol Whats funny is, they would ALWAYS blame everything on California here @ the Indy Hub. 'We gotta do this now because of California, we gotta do that now because of California'. lol Didn't you guys win a huge settlement, like $300 million? Man, they were always dogging you guys out here. Talk about a place that needs union representation.
Hhahaha! Yeah they were pissed about that one. I think I got almost 1000 dollars from that one. The rest have been a joke. I think it had to do with taking a lunch. They would write us up if we didn't take our lunch on time after that. I remember one morning when I went in to work there was a Forbes magazine hanging up in the break room and on the cover it said FedEx top 10 best companies to work for! We all started laughing. One guy said , they definitely aren't asking the drivers lol. They were talking union around there and the management caught wind of it. They put up a letter in the break room saying that the man would sell the company if the union ever got voted in. Shortly after that FedEx home delivery down the street from us did. They are still there and same owner. I never held my tongue. I always talked about having the union come in there. They literally were paying us half of what UPS was making.
Well, my dang truck needs brakes, but, I don't want to spend the money yet (better safe than sorry). However, I just thought of something and logged onto my Vanguard account (from my 1 year at FredEx) and withdrew my moolah (was only 900 something, which, after Uncle Sam's share, was 750 something). Looks like I get brakes after all. LOL ^5
They kept sending me letters in the mail to withdraw mine. I finally did and it was 1100 I think. Comes in handy when you need it. I cashed mine out at a time when I needed it too. I had forgot about it till they started sending me letters.
Yeah, that's how I remembered. They sent me a letter stating I can't keep it in there. I needed to 'roll it over', or, 'cash it in'. Now, I know it's not a good idea to cash it in, but, it's only $948.00, and, I need it. Because 'I's po but I's proud'.
