I know what you mean, but you still hear all these stories from the men who do it, not the women.

Yes emts and paramedics so burn out very very fast. I'm friends with a bunch of them.

i thought about Air Force quite a bit. I though navy like my grandpa but don't know if I can live at sea for months and months. I really wanted to be a marine, but I've heard mixed things about them. Most likely would do Air Force,

You could always try it for a couple of years. I think they still have two year enlistments. It would be like two years at summer camp or going away to a college with big guns and fast planes.

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

Yeah, the thing I wouldn't like about being a nurse is wiping peoples butts. Unless it was a hot chick of course. No wait, I wouldn't like that either.

Well guys I am yet again torn with a tough decision to make. I was told by a union official at the union meeting this morning that if I wanted a job hauling cars he could arrange it for me. I've been at YRC for 8 years now and I'm comfortable BUT the job hauling cars is a great opportunity. Better pension, health ins, pay and better home time. Here at YRC I will have to continue to run teams for the next 5 years to be able to run a single-man bid in Chicago. I think I need a shot and a beer. UGH!!!!

I thought about that... Spoke to a friend who loves it(air-national guard) and he basically gave me the run down of every branch as he looked into them all as well before he joined. Still debating or reserves/active of guard. If I do full active I can at least really see how I like it and then debate. Reserves I still live a normal civilain life pretty much and guard which is the same thing but I stay in my state... Oh desicions

Outside of some of the stuff I've seen in movies, all of the men I've talked to seem to really like being soldiers/having served. It's a very high status job. Even the men who hated it, still have a lot of pride in it, tell great stories about it and have a comaderie with other men who've served. Easy? No. Rewarding. Definitely.
