Yeah we actually caught several species. Bass, perch, crappie, bluegills, and pike. Turned out to be a fun weekend.

My best catch ever was a 3 1/2 lb. Crappy. But, I caught it in South Carolina. They looked at me like 'big deal'. I thought I had a state record. lol Probably would have been up north here. I also caught some 9+lb. LM Bass & a 32 lb. Striper. That was ages ago. Fish get big down south. Anywho, I caught a 5 1/2 lb. LM Bass here last summer. Had a pic of it. Can't find it. Must of deleted it.
p.s. I like lake Perch. Bet that was/will be yummy. They have lots of tiny bones that are a PITA though. I REALLY like Trout though. Buddy of mine caught a bunch up in MN & brought them back a couple years ago. We tossed them on the grill with some lemon & butter. Yummo! Tastes a little like Salmon to me.Last edited: Jan 8, 2013

Glad you had a fun fishing trip. I can't wait till I move down south. I'll be out there all the time fishing. It's been a long time since I've done anything like that. Southern California has changed so much since I was a kid. They have just taken all the fun out of hunting, fishing and living lol. Deep sea fishing is about all I would have time to do. You really need your own boat or have to know someone with a boat. Last time I went deep sea fishing, it was a joke. They pack a bunch of ####### on the boat and you can barely even drop your line out without bumping shoulders. Usually all my friends go to Lake Havasu or Lake Mead but I'm never off to go with them. -
I went deep sea fishing 1 time, never again. All I did was blow chow.
Even after I got off the boat, was still sick all day & night. Didn't feel better til the next morning. Was awful.

Funny you say that Squonk. I never got sea sick before as a child. I joined the Navy when I was 18 and to make a long story short, I was blowing chunks on an air craft carrier for the first 2 weeks. They yelled at me and told me it was all in my head. They told me not to think about it and try to focus on my job. I guess it worked cause I stopped getting sick. That is a horrible feeling though. The last time I went deep sea fishing I got sick and I remembered my but chewing I got and snapped out of it. I was able top see land far off in the distance and focused on it. It made me feel better.
Wrangler65 Thanks this. -
I never really get sea sick to be honest, I love being on the water and its awesome where I am I can do that. I was gonna look into the navy but then I realized as much as I love the water do I want to be living on it while deployed...
@cool35 yea my lawsuit with FedEx just went against them as I mentioned what they did to me and they owe me a ton of money now. Good luck on your new job and hope you get it.
@st your kidding me?? Looks like my layoff will be longer than two weeks now.
@squonk how's the whole new living arrangement going?
well today I had to rip up tiles in my moms basement since she's getting it redone, my friend(the lesbo) came and helped since she does that kind of work. Going out to dinner for my bros bday then out for drinks. Got military recruiter tomorrow and steam fitters union on thursday -
Everything is fine so far. She is gone for the rest of the month. (she's a trainer) I fell on my ### in the garage last night though. The steps leading into the garage are weird. (one big step & one really small step) Well, I did a face plant. I'm fine, just scraped up & my ankle hurts. Thank God I'm not hurt though, because, don't forget guys, while you're laid off, no insurance.
Trying to figure out what path to take, eh ACH1130? Well, don't sweat it dude, you can always change your mind. Hell, I made a career change @ 48. lol And I'm #### glad I had the balls to do it because I am much happier. Can't wait to get back to work though. -
I'm not worried about a career change
