its 35 doors. And yes our volume is quite good. Although we got some lazy guys who dont like doing stops and unfortuanatly we have to giuve up a lot of bills through out the week to another small trucking company. I went there to deliver once and we gave up 28 bills. Our outbound our manager like to see at least 120 bills a night. We have a few stops that we get an easy 10+ just from them

Don't get 'put to bed' at 324 today. No rooms left (Brickyard 400). Gotta go find a room elsewhere. GRRRrrrrrrrrrr.

Well everyone seems like I am leaving the team...

I have had problems with my ears for a few months now with infections. Been having to go see a dr every few weeks before I can get the surgery I need. Management is aware of this and always had a drs note everytime I needed off. I would go to work if I could get out at 430 but that cant be promised. So today I walk in and am told come to the branch managers office. I go in with the asst shop steward(who shouldve been defending me but instead defended them). I am told Im going to be let go because of this, and I argued about it. A few months ago I was injured on the job pulling a hamstring. I was oked by the dr to return to light duty and they wouldnt give it to me and just said take the week off. So the branch manager says hes going to "think" about it during the week... to be honest at this point I really hope he lets me go as I am just to agitated and dont even look foward to going to work any more... And the asst shop steward shouldve hd my back which he didnt... we need our main guy back for this.

Did you make the seniority list or are you still on probation?

Yup sounds like you should grieve that. But good luck with that with all the back office deals that go on nowadays.

In the process of it... I even spoke to the main shop steward today as he wanted to know what happened... Hes not very happy about his asst, along with the rest of us... You need a steward who isnt afraid to get in their faces and put your foot down. Even when I started out, whatever I messed up he defended me as much as possible but management was ok about it. Now today Im told by the main boss hes gonna keep me.

Damnn ACH1130, I hope it all gets worked out. Sounds like your manager is a real hardass.? I hope my manager never tries to redneck me. I am Irish with the proverbial temper. I would hate to have to tell him to go #@&% himself.
Anywho, we are busy as helll lately, which is good by me. Making killer $$$. And, I'm still loving this job. I just hope I don't get laid off this Winter, but, I will be ready if I do, no biggie.
Hey ST, I am at 309 all the time. Couple days ago, I saw this skinny guy, who was on a sleeper team, & wondered if it was you. lol He had grey hair though & I don't think you are grey yet.

No sir. It wasn't me. I'm only 36 and no grey hair yet. LOL. However if I stay here much longer I'm sure I will be in the future. @ACH. Keep your head up brother. Management at this company can be very intimidating at times but it is very important to remember that you pay dues to the Union for a reason. You need to exhaust any and all opportunities with them. Not sure if you guys saw the headlines yesterday but the company came out with the 2nd quarter earnings report and the company as a whole made money for the first time since 2008. YRC Freight is at a 100.6 OR and the regionals i.e. Holland, New Penn, and Redaway are at 94.o OR. This is a sign of very good news guys and I urge you all to be very optimistic about this news. Believe me when I tell you I have worked here thru the good and the bad and this the best I've felt in a long time about working here. Going to the beach today with the family. Be safe out there. Off to Tracy, CA on Monday.

Yeah the company does seem to be doing a bit better. They are still playing the "we are broke wah wah wah card" over here in Cali though. Still giving us the scare tactics, trying to keep us on our toes. I really don't like the scare tactics. It's bad enough you have to hear about how the world is gonna end or the economy is gonna collapse, aliens are gonna attack, etc hahaha. Anyway, we here it enough in the news, why does my job have to do it too. We already know it's bad, geez! Other than that, my barn is great! Really laid back and easy going. I work for Reddaway though.

ACH I hope it all works out for you. That really sucks what happened. Hopefully the union will fight for you and not against you. Or pretend they are fighting for you like they did for me. Sounds like you might already have it worked out though.
