I wasn't saying Pepsi paid peanuts. I was referring to companies like CREngland who offer company training in exchange for a year of indentured service. The reason I say Class B first is that my number one priority is relocating to Fl. I currenty have a job making $50K. There are companies that utilize tank/hazmat endorsements with Class B vehicles. I once applied to Coke only to be told that I needed hazmat to drive their Class B vehicles because of the gases they carry. There are also a lot of Class B tank vehicles. What I am also finding is that many OTR companies are not hiring out of FL.

Why class B w/endorsements over A? Tank/hazmat endorsements would be less than $100 for both. Most of that would be hazmat ($90). Class A alone would be $125, plus $3k for school. Then there's the issue of time. endorsements would take less than an hour. Class A would take at least a month. And that's if I quit working, in which case you can add lost wages to the cost of the license. I have a family and can't affot to lose tht muchh time/money. I've looked into PT school, but the only place that does it said the Oct start date may not happen because of a lack of students. They don't even have a next possible date. The only other school in the area stopped doing PT all together for the same reason.

There allot of drivers that got into trucking without the driving schools in the past but since the CDLs came out and all the new rules to go with it. Its made it almost next to impossible to get around the new system. All your time your waisting trying to beat the system with out the schooling you could be on the road getting the experience. Your money figures are way way off. Going to work with a O/O? I dont see it working like you think. For one Most all O/O are leased to a trucking company and you would have to be hired threw them to even get into the mans truck. The insurance company isn't going to allow someone to Drive the O/O truck with no schooling and experience. A O/O would have to be crazy to just put you in his truck with out having the insurance company OK it. Unless your on the books somewhere as a driver your experience wont count. If your making 50K now you better keep it. Or pay your dues like everyone else had to. I wish you luck.
