I'm currently evaluating my options and considering a switch to a new carrier. Before making any decisions, I’d appreciate some candid, first hand feedback from experienced drivers here.
I'm open to OTR or regional work, and I have no issue staying out if the company delivers on miles, equipment reliability, communication, and respect. Pay and consistency also matter, of course, but I’m well aware it’s not always about the numbers alone.
If you’ve recently worked with or are currently driving for a company that you feel is worth looking into, I’d be grateful to hear about your experience both the positives and the challenges

I’m located in Dallas Texas and I’ve got a clean driving record backed by years of experience. I hold a Class A CDL with endorsements for Tanker (N) and Doubles/Triples (T)

Could be an indicator there are no decent companies worth mentioning. The real reason is good companies aren't looking for drivers, they know when to stay put. Far as I'm concerned, the only reason a company is looking for a driver today, is the last one got pizzed off and quit.

    Jolene....

Stop beating around the bush....go back -- & get that hazmat endorsement!!!!

    After that -- go tanker.

If you want to be treated as a true professional, look into the following tanker fleets:
    • Custom Commodities
    • Andrews Logistics
    • Wynne Transport Service

I gave a shout out to my current company in your other thread, did you call them or apply there? They will hire you out of Dallas as we go there faithfully. If you want to hear my experiences and what i like about them in detail, I'll do that only if you PM me. You being in Dallas gives you tons of options. If those are all that you require, then you'll have lots to.choose from.

You posting this question will get you answers that hinge closer to a negative view of the industry, or a bunch of answers from guys that think they know a company based on reputation and reviews, but they've never worked there. Have you begun talking to any carriers? If so, which ones appear to fut your standards?

I drive for Heartland Express, I have had to leave them a couple of times and come back and never recieved any heartburn because of it. Pay checks on time, pay what they promise (at least to me), like my driver manager, and area. Still have manual transmissions for us old farts. Equpiment maintenace ok, always have fixed anything I brought up. Everyone doesnot share my experience, nor will they ever.
