Hello, I am 36, and currently a company OTR man for three years with a major truckload US carrier. (orange) During this time I have logged ~300k miles. I have a good driving record with one non-injury, non-preventable at the first of this year. I had an overweight ticket two years ago, and a preventable backing incident at the start of my career. I have traditionally stayed out a fortnight at a time (10-14 days). Although I wish to be home a bit more often.

My wife is a stay-at-home mom raising our two young children. So good benifits are very important to me. I successfully grossed $50k last year. I reside in Knoxville, TN. My favorite part of trucking is the freedom compared to regular jobs.

I do like my current gig, And I have a new truck. but I sometimes feel that I could be doing better financially, and w/ home time.

So givin these facts about me, what companies would you suggest I research?

    Thanks in advance

    A&R Logistics

Should be able to make &60K with either company.

Burkhart Enterprises in Knoxville is regional.
Check Cardinal Logistics website for an account in or near Knoxville.

Try mid south wire out of Nashville. They guarantee like 1k a week. You can pull van, flat or conistoga. They advertise you can do one or all. No forced NYC. Good benefits and 9 paid holidays.. maybe it's 6 but the majors are paid and your home on them. They also get you home on the weekend for your reset.
I almost went there but then decided to stay local at the time. The people are super nice. They answered my questions with ease... and I ask A LOT of questions.

If you made 50k and were home every 10 days and have a new truck then might want to stay there. Just my point of view. Grass isnt always greener and miles arent always better.

You should be able to make 50k and be home every night, or at least every weekend. Look I'm not trying to pry into your business, but if you can be home more often it is better for your family.
