Hi all!
Just a quick post to introduce myself. I'm a trucker with 12 years experience, but I've been off the road for 9 years. Now I'll be starting trucking school for a refresher course, and I'll be back to the job I love! I'm glad I kept my CDL all these years. I'm sure it will be like I'm a rookie all over again, but I hope it won't be long until a company hires me. Does anyone know what companies hire solo female drivers? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Welcome, I did the same, Drove about 10-11 yrs and the took about 17 yrs off and came back 2 yrs ago.
Its like riding a bike. The only thing that tripped me up a bit was these new trucks and the lower rpm you shift at.
Good lucktrukinlady92 and d o g Thank this. -
Welcome back. I wouldn't worry about being female keeping you from a job, there's lots of female drivers.

Finished school finally. I was surprised the driving came back to me so easily. I think I really surprised the instructor as well! lol! I got behind the wheel, and it was as if I'd never left. I was amazed! He had to ask me to make sure how long it had been since I'd driven a big truck. (9 years) I ran team with my husband for 12 years and for 7 years we ran 6500 miles a week coast to coast until I quit driving. I guess you never do forget. But trucking is a life long dream for me also. It's in my blood, I guess!
Thanks for the replies!
