I started the central training program on july 30th. was apparent very quickly it was a CDL mill, despite what they claim. two weeks of learning the test answers as fast as possible and a very quick run through of driving a large truck. was really pretty easy. got on my trainers truck. drove across the country for almost 6 weeks. learned a LOT. from what i saw of the other trainers i am very happy with the one i got. He knows his stuff, and seems to look at backing as a hobby. I have a long way to go, but compared to what i learned from him, i got very little in the school. just got a heavily used 2010 international prostar yesterday. heading out on my first load tomorrow. all in all a pretty good experience, and looking forward to my year with central.

read the paperwork they give you. study it well. and really read through the company manual when you get one.

Been Reading an aweful lot on Central--overall have good vibes about picking them over Swift and England. Overall feeling I get having seen the Positive and the Negative is everything pretty much depends on your attitude and communication skills... Negative posts seem to be from very negative people, positives seem to be from folks like me who just want to get a job done and take surprises on as "not the END of the world just annoying"....

I have been putting off going on the Road for 3 yrs now, always finding SOMETHING to make me wait a bit...(finally got her out of my house) Going to take the plunge, and CRS on paper "and" from drivers seems more favorable than the other no-money down CDL trainers...

In general- how dependable are the miles and thus how steady and consistant are the paychecks?...
Read somewhere you can bring a dog with you after a $500 deposit. is this true or at least 'still' true?
Im not hard to please- dont require a lot of maintenance to keep me getting up and getting going everyday- great with routine and very patient... Just would like some perspective from someone like myself whose already done this with this outfit...
Not starstruck just wanting good work and security-
    thoughts?

unfortunately they have a no pet policy... :(

You are right though...it's all in the attitude! Also IF you aren't getting the miles, and you have been minding your Ps and Qs, you can always try out a different DM... Sometimes you have to try a few on to get the right fit... Just like a good set of shoes ;)
