Extended hood or short hood??

Off topic, but cool dog ya got there. Have the same sitting next to me & won't let the truck leave if she's not in it.

Short hood can't find a pic with hood down

 

I heard some guys are converting shorts to ex hoods by cutting the back clip off, adding longer rails with new rear full air suspensions then setting the cab/sleeper farther back on the frame and simply putting a longer hood on. Seems like a lot of work to me for an extra 8 inches of hood length...
