Extra Certification?

I notice in an application with one company about training for a couple extra things.

One that I remember is going into Canada. Is there some kind of certification I can obtain?

I've noticed Hydrogen Sulfide training certification.

I don't know that forklift certification is worth anything. Maybe with a complete anal company run by administrators? I wouldn't want that company anyways. I'm good with forklifts. But might?
Same goes for cranes of any type. Know them.

    Are these worth getting?
Are there any other certifications that might help me?

My number one prospect for driving is a small oil company. Hauling gasoline.
If that doesn't work out. A close second is a good smaller company over the road.

TWIC ID Card. Google for nearest office to apply. This is for entry to military bases, chemical plants, rail yards, seaports.

Also with Canada, if one has a felony as Canada see it, one will be denied entry. Canada sees, among others, a DUI as a felony. Doesn't matter how long ago.
The forklift thing I'm sure is more an insurance requirement I'm sure.
As for chemicals, I know the various fuel places require each driver to have a specific certification for eack place. Usually a 15 minute video is what I've been told.

Just so long as Canada doesn't consider being Republican as a felony. I'm ok.
So there isn't any certification, or card for Canada? Just training to know how to handle the crazy Canuck's?

I sure appreciate the heads up on TWIC. I'll get that next week. Same place I did the Hazmat at.
I didn't know that doubles/triples are only a written test. Going to do that next week also.

So any Hydrogen Sulfide would be redundant. They'll still want me to take their own training on site. Correct?

I'd just like to start Truck Driving class as prepared as possible. Graduate and get a job right away. I'm sure that TWIC will take a while.

Got my TWIC in about two weeks, if I remember correctly.

You already had Hazmat? If so, imagine that could quicken up the process. Being already registered with DHS and all.

BTW: I would have been in class one week already. They didn't have the federal grant money. That's why I'm having to wait till Nov.
Also.... I'm telling companies I have the Passenger Endorsement for doggies. :)

"Cranes of any type know them". What does that mean?

I've worked with all kinds of cranes. Was certified at the company I worked at. Bridge, Boom, cherry pickers, etc.
Only exception would be those huge suckers that require a crane operator, dedicated as a full time job.

Oh 10-4. I was just curious because I was a crane operator for a number of years. Having a NCCCO card won't really help you unless you go to work for an actual crane company. I had mine for 5 years before I took a fall. I listed it a few times and it was never brought up.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) training is required if you are going to refineries or oil rigs. Part of the training is getting fitted for an oxygen mask. You will also be required to spend about $120 for an H2S monitor. Once activated the monitor is good for two years.

H2S training is just one part of the training to get your International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) RigPass card. Anyone going to oil rigs or fracking sites will need this.
