It could have been an extra pallet added accidentally by original shipper or it could have been missed by a receiver. You should call it in to whomever gave you the load, although you have your pods in order and all signed in full, this could some back to bite you in a few days. You could be reading the paperwork wrong, or the receiver will pull the camera feeds. Un-fare as it may seem, it can get charged back to you. They will say you should have checked your load/count Try to get it solvd.

Someone with morals and ethics would call the shipper and inform them. Someone without would sell it. Let your conscience be your guide.
Wings2Wheels and rollin coal Thank this. -
You didn't notice that extra pallet till 2000 miles away?If so always check the trailer before you leave, chances are stop 12 would have taken it.Start checking each stop to make sure they took the correct amt of product and check your trl before leaving shipper to make sure the correct amt is loaded. You company may have you or another driver hang on to that pallet and take it back to either the stop that's short one or shipper. Some unloaders are just as irresponsible as some of the drivers are. They unload ,quickly check bill sign and send you on your way.

Happens more often than you think--Best way to handle is
1-Contact shipper immediately
2-Tell the everything
3-tell them I HAVE A LOAD WAITING TO PICK UP
4-Therefore YOU HAVE 2 hrs to make a decision
By then I will have set up w/local cold storage to leave it at-
Not trying to be mean here But We BOTH have businesses to run and this is YOUR problem NOT mine and REMEMBER I could have been a ##$## & just burned YOU so I expect the same courtesy
Then go have breakfast& while you are there check w/cold storage in area&any carriers that deal w/temp control ltl
Jus my .$02Taildragon, Cetane+ and rollin coal Thank this. -
Call your local kitchen and tell them you got a donation to make.

As much as people stick it to truckers it sounds like revenge really is best served cold!

Do the right thing, call your company, or the shipper.

'olhand, Taildragon, JPenn and 3 others Thank this.

Some shippers years ago also did that and then see how honest the trucking company was.
It was called a test load.
Or they did it by mistake. Any how call your company and report it.. -
Thinking about this one overnight, would suggest you check the pallet for a scannable tag, this will have an id number on it. All food is now tagged for traceability FDA regs.. Sometimes I have trucks where drivers think the PODs show a clean delivery and then when I look they don't, though I can see how it was not super clear... Scan all your paperwork and send it in ASAP.
Taildragon Thanks this.
