    I BEEN OPERATING IN FLORIDA WITH JUST A DOT # I WANTED TO START GOING OUT OF STATE I CALLED THE PERMIT NUMBER TODAY AND SHE SAID IN DO NOT NEED A MC NUMBER BECAUSE I ALWAYS STAY UNDER 26,000 IS THAT TRUE

    This is why u-haul only rents trucks RATED under 26,000. It's not how much weight you have. It's what the truck is rated to carry. In this case though, I used to transport collector cars, and had a Dot #, but never used a MC number.

    Yes that's true, but make sure you stay under 26,000. DOT are getting Tough on us hotshots.
