So my two new trucks came with a 1700 max RPM REV limiter ….. the question is do I leave it there or push it up to 2000. I’ve never had one before nor do I know anything about it so looking for some feedback!
I've never seen an advantage to pushing mine past 1500. I normally cruise 1100-1300 and 1300-1500 on long pulls or while engine braking.
Unless the HP peak is above 1700 there's really no point in changing it, especially if 1700 is the engine's listed governed speed.
1300 is too low on an ISX or X15 in the long run. That low rpm high torque causes liner fretting and eventually dropped liners.1500 rpm and above.
Pretty sure they're 1900 RPM engines. I would personally, but you may not need it. Peak torque is @ 1000 IIRC. How's it geared? And where/what are you pulling?
