Your are so right. A crash can and will sometimes wipe out a whole company putting EVERY employee on the street.

 

So send him the money he spent making up for the moron that didn't wear a seatbelt? It's just money. What difference does it make if you spend it on him or you? You only care about your material possessions while you criticize him for the same thing. That's the actual definition of hypocrit.

 

Where were you 20 years ago when this was being decided? After it is law everywhere, what good does whining about the past do? If wearing a seatbelt keeps you from having any of the unfair penalty from an unfair law, why not wear it? If your principle is so important why not never wear the seatbelt? You want a consequence-free life and probably someone else to pay for it.

 

So you don't wear your seatbelt now because you have the heart of a warrior, not a rabbit? You are 20-30 years after the fact. You stayed in the industry as it regulated. You volunteered to live under the regulations. You are not running any campaign to get rid of these regulations, just complaining.

 

Did the law or penalties about seatbelt use change during this argument? Are you still arguing about them? How's that working out for you?

 

Where in the regulations is it required you agree with the reason for a regulation? When does withholding your approval of a regulation cause the regulation not to be enforced? You have a flat-earth model of regulation. The law applies whether you agree or not, whether you know the penalty or not, and whether you agree the penalty is consistent with other penalties or not. Why is your opinion about a regulation the "center of the universe"?

 

You understand the mandatory seatbelt laws have been in place for decades, right? No amount of whining about them changes that. I have just been explaining what is, not what should be if I can get my time-machine working or when I start my Utopian village.
