I agree with some of that but it still doesn't hold water entirely as they've forced the states to pass laws as well. My personal vehicle is not a federally regulated industry.

Last I checked nobody is belting you into either type of vehicle. Just don’t cry if you get a ticket. And for cars, many states a seatbelt isn’t a primary offense. They have to pull you over for something else.TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and tscottme Thank this. -

Primary vs secondary has disappeared in the last four states I've lived in but frankly it shouldn't matter at all because it shouldn't be a law.
I agree about whining about conditions one agrees to. It's one of the reasons I'm leaving the industry gradually. Too much government in my personal life.
As far as "nobody is belting you into either type of vehicle" is bunk. Not everyone lives in a city with public transportation. People shouldn't have to lose their rights to put food on their table, see medical professionals or anything else that's typically found in a city. -
