I got a misdemeanor failure to stop at port of entry ticket in AZ. They wanted $600. I said thats nice, get serious ( I really did). They lowered it to $150 and one year probation in AZ. Since I live in Cali I said sure. After running a clean probation period it was dismissed. (by the way, I was in a 10,000lb. box truck (delivery truck)) Regular class C license. This was in 05.
I ordered my DAC and got it last week since Im considering gettin a class A. Hireright has no employment history on me, no pee test results on me, no theft reports on me, nothing except....
On the criminal history part is says...Arizona, failure to stop at port of enrty,
charge: misdemeanor
category: traffic
disposition: dismissed by court
Also under criminal history portion there was something else from a county I used to live in. It reads charge unspecified and outcome unspecified. I called the court clerk of the county and found out it was a fix it ticket for tinted windows on my personal vehicle. The $10 ticket was taken care of and paid one week after i got it, so no problem there, I cant believe that was actually on a criminal history report WTF! -
My first year I probably blew by at least a half dozen open scales. I never got in trouble though.
I remember I-95S going into FL. I hit that bridge going into FL, it was one big fog bank. You couldn't see crap. I come out of it just past the ramp to the coops, oops, lol.
I seen that officer looking at me with a mean look. I threw my hands up like Oh well!
I did the same thing in MS near LA about 3am.
These off the interstate coops is BS. They ought to all be like the rest of the states. I could see where some confusion can happen with a new driver. -
you chose not to take the exit they nailed you pay it and take it as lesson learned -

the I5 south scale at longview is the same way -
I did it in the late 80's at the I-880 southbound scale in Fremont, CA. It was a fairly new scale at the time and I forgot that it was there. I was deadheading to San Jose to load and just blew by the ramp!
I stopped on the shoulder right across from the scale house and grabbed my log book and registration and all that #### and went inside to explain...The guy started yelling at me about needing to cross the scale and I said "Look out the window, It's an empty flatbed!" He looked at all the paperwork and told me to be more careful next time and sent me on my way. -
I blew by the one in umatilla oregon one night coming back from washington and i seen the weigh station sign but really didnt know if it was also for I82 or just highway 12 so i kept going and never had anyone comne after me but then i think maybe the scale was closed as it was after midnight i always went in to that station after that and its a PITA going off the freeway to the light then go right then another right into the coop then come back out thru the light again and a quick right back up to the freeway what a joke that coop is.

hup, you also got lucky with the officer pointing out you were 15 short on your 10. Most dont care if its your first day, or your 10,001st day on the road, they normally give you a ticket.....unless u get a REALLY nice one like injun.
