Sumitomo does not honor they're warranties! They now own Tire Kingdom so I tried a set of Sumitomo for my F150, 265/70/17. Tire Kingdom said they had a 60k mile warranty but we're BALD at 40k miles. Went back to The Kingdom and the manager said it would take weeks and that the warranty was pro-rated based on mileage. In other words all they would do was give me a small credit if I purchased another set of tires from them. Korean companies are just like the Chinese companies, warranties are worthless and they mean nothing. The warranty should say, "Buy at your own risk!"

However, it happened only on the Made in Japan tires. Made in the USA tires don't have that problem.
Yesterday I went to the shop where tires were bought from to price some steers and asked about Falkens.
So basically what happened, Falken changed the formula and makes them all in US now. New formula stopped capping, but they no longer sell them as Ecorun.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
We deliver the cans to Falken and I have run two sets on my pickup.
The Wildpeak HT were 50,000 rated and at 58,000 they still had some tread.
They replaced a set of Cooper Discovery that got worse and worse in the rain as the wore out. The Falken handled like new in the rain up to the day I took them off.
The second set were AT3W and I am still running them.
We haven't tried them on the trucks, Penske supplies the tires....Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

Did you expect them to give you a new set of tires because yours didn't last till 60k miles?
When tire manufacturer's put mileage warranties on tires, it's based on average driving, proper inflation, rotation and the hopes that the consumer doesn't abuse the tire.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

2CAN, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks. Just ordered some Michelin XZE2's that cost 480 with national acct pricing. Probably more than worth the extra 180 a piece even if I'm not keeping the truck that much longer...

Last May (2018) I had the infamous cups and injectors done on my Volvo. While it was down I sent the DPF and EGR cooler out to get cleaned. Not cheap but I was within my budget. Was needing steer tires and looking at new Michelins. Then the dealership called, have to replace the Turbo $5k installed.
I bought the Falken RI130 steer tire 295/75 22.5. $728 for 2 mounted/balance/tax at Rene's Tire shop in Fontana. They are the USA made Falken. Thought I'd run them 5-6 months until Winter came then move back up to a known brand name.
It's been 16 months, after 154k miles the tires still have 7/32 thread, no cupping or other strange wear, ride smooth and quiet. Grip well when wet. I'll purchase againbut only the USA made ones.Last edited: Sep 24, 2019
